About Joyce Owens
Joyce Owens, FAIA RIBA, the founder and principal architect at Architecture Joyce Owens LLC, oversees all design work and meets with clients to explore creative possibilities and solutions.
Her dedication to innovation, collaboration, and a cooperative experience has earned her numerous design & industry awards, including the 2022 Gold Medal of Honor and distinguished 2020 Medal of Honor for Design from AIA Florida, and named one of America's 2025 Top 200 Residential Architects by Forbes Magazine!
Joyce is highly respected for her knowledge and expertise in the complexities of designing building solutions for living with tropical climate challenges. She is often featured on local and national news providing insight into building and rebuilding with smarter and stronger design solutions—critical for communities threatened by severe storms, hurricanes, and rising seas.
Before setting up her firm in Fort Myers, Joyce was a co-founding partner at the London-based firm Azman Owens Architects, where her clients included Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Fashion Icons Alexander McQueen and Vivian Westwood, Fashion Guru Isabella Blow, and retail corporation TAGHeuer.
